This is a picture of some of us when we spent one morning clearing out our Wild-Area, -no rest for the wicked!!
We are a group of children, from Bassingham County Primary School in Lincolnshire. We started our company in 1991. We like our environment and want to keep it the way it is and also improve it. So Bassingham school decided to set up BEC!
Each year children apply to become a director in BEC and are interviewed for a job.
Our original aim though was :The provision
of 'wildlife' areas within the village for the benefit and enjoyment of the whole
community!
(But now we have changed to much wider aims such as the
things we have put a little bit further down the page and more!)
We like to keep our environment clean and friendly and we also try to make our school grounds a wonderful, stable home for animals and insects. But as well as this we want it to be a nice place for US!
Because of all this and people's support BEC has been going for eight years and so far has been very successful and we have won various awards for our efforts.
2) We try to protect the wildlife.
3) We try to make our village a nicer place for us to live in.
4) We try and make people respect our village.
5) We like to feel that we
are helping our environment.
